Initial Setup (Version 12 or higher):
By default, cloning is not enabled for any CRM entity. To enable Cloning for any entity, follow the below steps:
1. Browse to Settings >> Record Clone Setting
2. Click New and fill-in the details for the entity that needs cloning functionality.
Record Clone configuration settings:
Eg Setting value
Select the entity for which Cloning button should be shown
Clone Identifier (optional)
Select the text field which would have the prefix [Clone]. This is optional.
Check the box, if you would like to have a confirmation pop-up message when clone button is clicked.
Clone Multiple Records (Single Clone only)
Check the box, if you would like to have ability to select multiple records and clone them together
Open Clone Record (Single Clone only)
Check the box, if you would like to auto open the form with the cloned record (after clone button is clicked)
Parent ID (optional)
If you want to store the reference of the cloned record, then select the field. Here you can create a custom lookup to the same entity eg. To store source account when cloning account…you can create a 1…N relationship field to Account called as “Source Account” and have that selected here. If you select a text field, then GUID is stored.

When record is cloned, the owner of the new record is the logged in user if “Reset Owner” is checked. Otherwise the record-owner remains the same
Reset Record Status (Active Record Only)
To exclude any fields from getting cloned, select those fields.
Apply Exclusion under relationship
The exclusion rule will apply even when cloning related entity
Select the related entities that you would like to clone
Eg cloning opportunity products when cloning opportunity
Select the related N..N relationships that you would like to clone
Include only Active records for related entity
To clone related entity records, select the setting 1…N. If this is checked then only related active records will be cloned.
